I'm Matt.
I believe the capacity for change
is already inside of you.
My goal in working together is for you to tune into that capacity for change.
Let's name and understand the barriers are getting in the way of change.
I want you to leave your time in therapy with tools that we know will work for you - because you know yourself.

I have an eclectic approach, but I primarily work from a cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and narrative framework. When we meet together I will assess your individual needs and form a client-centered therapy experience.

A bit about Me, Matt(he/him)

A lot of times people are curious about their therapists. The nature of the client/therapist relationship is professional, and I operate from a code of ethics and set boundaries to limit my self-disclosure. However, there are a few things I do not mind sharing with you about myself:
I’m very curious. I like to spend my spare time reading, journaling out questions, and finding out more about the world around me. I set a goal to read a certain number of books each year. Most of the time I’m reading nonfiction but I am always on the lookout for fiction I would enjoy.
I enjoy being outside hiking or playing disc golf. Most of the time, though, being outside just looks like hanging out with my kids in the backyard. I enjoy jogs with my kids while they ride their bikes, and I make sure I get my steps in each day.
I believe therapy is for everyone. I think everyone can benefit from the therapuetic relationship. If you have tried counseling in the past and did not find it to be beneficial, I believe you CAN find someone who is a good fit. Even if it isn’t me, that’s OK. I believe the right person is out there for you.
I have worked extensively with the recovery community. I believe everyone can experience growth and change by practicing surrender, connection, and action. This is part of why I love what I do so much – not just seeing people thrive, but helping people reinforce lasting systems of support long after we end our time together.
